COURSE DESCRIPTION

EDUC 432A is a course designed to facilitate the work of practicum advisors (both school and faculty).  Topics include learning theory, observation of practice, a language to talk about teaching, student teacher reflection, evaluation of teaching practice, and talking to experienced advisors and past student teachers.

CLASS SCHEDULE

EDUC 432A is conducted over an 11-week period (dates below).  The course includes 6 regular class sessions starting at 4.30pm and going to approximately 8.30pm with coffee/tea break (start-time can be negotiated on a class-wide basis) and 5 lab practicum sessions (time devoted to practical work that is a central part of the course, in particular, a coaching practicum).
