The program
This program will address issues such as:
- Language diversity
- Learning disabilities
- Adolescent concerns
- Cultural diversity
- Multiple intelligences
- Learning styles
- Curriculum design & implementation
Borrowing from problem-based learning, courses will be provided through a system of select lectures and seminars that lead to an emphasis upon case study learning that integrates knowledge and experience across the program.

applicant requirements
- An adult education contract with a school district.
- A completed four-year undergraduate degree with at least a 65% average on all senior-level credits.
- Prior academic coursework will be assessed in consultation with the BC College of Teachers for appropriate teaching fields.
- Three letters of recommendations from educators and administrators that speak to your engagement with education.
- A resumé including summary of subjects you have taught in a secondary setting.
- A 600-word personal statement indicating how you think this program (along with your current education and experience) can help enhance your understanding of teaching practices.
- Official Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. Official transcripts must be sent directly to Jo-Anne Chilton from each post-secondary institution you have attended - we only accept transcripts that are sealed and received via mail directly from the institution.
- At least 5 years teaching experience in Adult Education Centres.

Tuition
The program total is $10,800 plus applicable student fees.
Tuition fees are in Canadian dollars, are reviewed annually by the UBC Board of Governors, and are subject to change.
