Centre for the Advancement of Science Identities (CASI)

A broadly collaborative research project to determine how and why learners build affirmative relationships ("identity") with specific subjects and opportunities, in this special case with mathematics and science. CASI is currently a proposal within NSERC's CRYSTAL Program. The "digital" dimension is the tools CASI develops will focus on web-based self-expression and profiling technologies. The "learning" dimension is understanding how to integrate subject affinity across the myriad of formal, informal, family and popular media influences in the full flux of learner's experience.
