PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Smartboard Teaching and Learning...
This Summer Institute will take you from the basics of using an 'Interactive White Board' (Smartboard) to building lessons that engage and motivate student learning in many curriculum areas.
Together we will work on developing lessons and implementing strategies that can be used in the first weeks of school. Come, build and collaborate with others in using the Smartboard.

instructors:
Monica Fong is a teacher at Livingstone School in Vancouver. She graduated from UBC's Master of Educational Technology program in 2005. She has had two years experience of integrating Smartboard lessons and activities into her own classroom.
Gina Wong is a teacher at Strathcona Elementary School in Vancouver. She also mentors teachers in graduate diploma programs through the Field Programs Department in the Faculty of Education at SFU. She has a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Gina began working with the Smartboard earlier this year and is sharing this learning with fellow colleagues.
Both Monica and Gina are currently engaged in a number of professional development activities working with other teachers in a monthly Smart Cafe and both are involved in a collaborative teacher inquiry project on the use of Smartboards with educators from the University of British Columbia and from the B.C. Teacher's Federation.

tuition:
The cost for this 2-day summer institute is $200.
